2023 Harvard Climate Symposium
Hosted by the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability at Harvard University
The new Institute serves as a fulcrum for collaboration across Harvard’s many areas of expertise, pursuing practical, real-world solutions that address all aspects of the climate crisis.
The Symposium represents the first major event of the Salata Institute’s Climate Action Accelerator. The Accelerator will serve as a resource and partner to the full spectrum of stakeholders wrestling with the most difficult and divisive climate questions, building consensus for climate solutions grounded in Harvard’s research and expertise.
PURPOSE
This inaugural Harvard Climate Symposium focuses on the fundamental changes that we must make to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the requisite levels. The event will convene leaders like you in government, business, civil society, and academia, who are helping bring about these changes.
FORMAT
Keynote speakers set the stage and will engage in conversations around strategic interventions, meaningful actions, legislation, and changes to how we live and work in our communities. In the afternoon, you will delve deeper into the issues. You select the sessions and actively participate, engaging with your peers and Harvard faculty on what needs to be done to get onto a better emisssions path. The day concludes with a plenary session about what comes next.
