• Welcome, Land & Labor Acknowledgment
• Overview of Harvard Forest Climate Research & Education Initiative
• Honoring Nipmuc Sovereignty Panel moderated by Keshia De Freece Lawrence with Keely Curliss and Kristen Wyman followed by Q&A

11:45 am

Field tour: Climate and Environmental justice (tour options are .5 miles or 2-3 miles)

• Join Harvard Forest senior scientist Jackie Matthes, Harvard Forest Senior Scientist, and a team of HF educators to visit the world’s longest running carbon and climate experiments in trees, air, water, and soil--connecting sugar maples to satellites, and microbes to methane
• Explore land kinship & climate questions with our partners from local Indigenous nations
• Learn to identify native trees and wildlife
• Visit the Forest’s sustainable biomass heating facility
• Optional 2 mile walk on wide but slightly uneven dirt road

1:30 pm

Lunch with Harvard Forest senior ecologists (including Harvard alumni) and current summer interns

2:30 pm

Departure back to Cambridge
