Generation Z is leading the fight on climate change, organizing for climate progress in their communities, launching and leading new climate organizations, elevating climate change on the national and international agenda, and serving as a moral voice for action. Gen Z is also engaging on the issue in new ways. They are organizing and mobilizing their peers through social media, bringing new, diverse voices to the table, elevating the cause of climate justice, and, across the political spectrum, pressing those in positions of power to make climate change the priority it deserves to be. This conversation will consider the Gen Z approach to climate change, their unique generational perspective on this issue, stories of youth climate leadership and initiative, and strategies for harnessing Gen Z’s energy and enthusiasm for continued climate progress.
